I have been attending Glendale Community College since the summer before my junior year of high school through the ACE Plus program and I will hopefully be graduating from GCC after the spring semester.

Catherine Eden

Catherine Eden, Ph.D currently serves as Director of the Bob Ramsey Executive Education Program at ASU. Prior, Cathy served as Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services. She also served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives and was director of Department of Administration and chaired the Governor’s Cabinet. From 1983 to 1988, she was county manager of Coconino County and was instrumental in establishing the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. Cathy has a B.S. in political science from ASU, an M.S. in sociology/public administration from the University of Northern Arizona and a Ph.D. in organization and management from Capella University, Minneapolis.

Jack LaSota is a former Attorney General and Governor’s Chief of Staff. He also spent three years at the Arizona State University College of Law as a faculty member and assistant dean. In his nearly four years with the Office of Attorney General, he edited and authored hundreds of attorney general opinions.  More recently, he was a charter member of the Lottery Commission, and just concluded over ten year’s service as a charter member of the Governor’s Regulatory Review Council. He spent six years in the 1980s as an adjunct professor of law at ASU College of Law, teaching State and Local Government.

Mary Martha Prince

Mary Martha has served on the Dougherty Foundation Board since 1989. She brings to the Board a background in education and in finance. Mary Martha’s experience includes having been an English & literature teacher at the secondary level, a library director, and a financial services advisor at two major brokerage firms. Mary Martha earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Arizona, and earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Denver.

James P. Walsh has practiced law in Arizona since 1970. A graduate of the University of Chicago School of Law, James was elected as Pinal County Attorney in 2008. Mr. Walsh is a  board member of the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council and chair of its Legislative Policy Committee. Before becoming the Pinal County Attorney, he served in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office as the Chief Deputy and as Special Counsel for Southern Arizona. Jim has served the people of Arizona as a State Senator (1975-76) and has been active in community and professional organizations, including the Arizona Humanities Council, Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest, and the Oracle Land Trust.

Danny Valenzuela is an Executive/Business Coach, Leadership Facilitator and Organizational Consultant. In addition to completing a B. S. in Management from Arizona State University, Danny is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). He has served on numerous boards and commissions at the national, state and local levels and has more than forty years experience in executive level positions, non-profit leadership, and small business ownership. Danny is also a member of the International Coach Federation and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Serving as Executive Director since 1992, Linda acts as a liaison between the more than 20 participating schools receiving scholarship and student loan funds from the foundation and the Dougherty board of directors.  Her former professional experience includes serving as the controller for the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix’s four high schools for two years; as accounting manager for the 8,000 member American Electroplaters & Surface Finishers Society in Florida and as the Controller for Catholic Charities Community Services of Arizona for six years.  Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.
